The Annual 2019 - Face to Face Meeting of the NPU Steering Committee.

The NPU Steering Committee held its annual face-to-face meeting on the 11th June 2017 in connection to the IFCC EuroMedLab in Athens. The Steering Committee discussed how to support the NPU Terminology for the future: the vision is to get the NPU Terminology acceptable, available and attractive for world – wide use.

The NPU Steering Committee held its annual face-to-face meeting on 12 May in Copenhagen, hosted by the Danish Health Data Authority. A well-attended meeting was conducted in a lively and constructive atmosphere covering a range of important topics.

The three National Release Center on the NPU terminology held their second face- to-face in Copenhagen, April 7th and 8th 2016.

The NPU Terminology Steering Committee recently conducted a survey among the national society members of IFCC to establish the extent to which there is a national system of laboratory terminology in use in each country.

A new financial model for reimbursement of laboratory services in Norway.

The International NPU Office administrates and manages the International (English) NPU terminology on behalf of IFCC and IUPAC. The International NPU Office is located in the center of Copenhagen and managed by the Danish Health Data Authority (DHDA) under the Ministry of Health.

The NPU Steering Committee met on 26 January 2016. Many topics were discussed and among them: the results obtained from a survey of the national societies that are IFCC members; the preparation of the strategic plan for 2016 and the actions NPU SC will focus on.

The NPU Steering Committee held a scheduled Skype meeting on 16 November 2015. The meeting discussed a range of issues relating to the governance and use of NPU terminology.

On the 6th and 7th of October 2015, the NPU Scientific Committee (C-SC-NPU joint IUPAC/IFCC committee/sub-committee) met at Linköping University, Sweden. This was the second face-to-face meeting of the NPU committee this year, after a successful April meeting in Copenhagen.

Steering Committee approved the content of a generic agreement for a National Release Center to be able to use NPU terminology.

The Joint IFCC-IUPAC (Sub) Committee for NPU (C-SC-NPU) will meet Sweden in October 2015 to discuss the ongoing development of NPU terminology.

The NPU Steering Committee in its next meeting will focus on governance and strategic direction of NPU terminology.

The Norwegian Directorate of Health has been acknowledged as a National Release Centre (NRC) by the NPU Steering Committee.
